Oden at Home

by - February 19, 2018

These people in the office (and on intagram) have been sharing photos and stories about the cheesecake and matcha ice cream that look so scrumptious, and hot stew with mixed fish balls, fish cakes and everything nice by the name of oden sold at Family Mart.

So the other day my colleagues and I went to one of its outlets in Mid Valley to give oden a try.

It was my first try and the verdict? It was so tasty that I can't let go of my bowl till I finished the last drop of its broth.

So, since I live in the area where there is no Family Mart, and to wait until Friday for the long lunch hour at the office to go there again seems torturing, I figured out another option to get it.

By making my own oden at home.
I got this tomyam paste from my friend who bought it at Padang Besar, Perlis. I was told it is original from Thailand and not available in the local market. I believe, you can find this online but of course, you can use whatever brand of your choice.

Update : This tomyam paste is available online (Shopee)!

I put the paste into a pot with water and put them to boil. Then I pour the fish balls in. Ready to serve in less than 15 minutes or so.
