New Mother Gift Ideas

Being a new mother can be overwhelming to many women, including myself.

What must I do when the baby cries?

How should I feed the baby?

Why isn't the baby sleep at night?

When can I get a proper rest?

Often when we visit a new mom, she is looking restless from the sleepless nights and lack of energy. Most of the time, we just bring gifts for the baby. So why not this time, we pamper the mom and make she feels like herself, again.

In the bag (bag is from HERE):

1. Sanitary Pad - one thing a new mom, especially one who just delivered a baby needs mostly.

2. Water bottle / tumbler - to keep her hydrated all the time. You can get her a fancy bottle or mug with personalized writing on it like 'we've got you mom' or 'mom' or whatever as well.

3. Snacks (biscuits) - mom is always hungryyyy from breastfeeding so get her something to munch! Chocolate, cookies, sweets or nuts can be a good option.

4. Book - be it a novel, motherhood book, or just a book for her to write on will be good. When I was a new mom, I write everything about motherhood journey - from confinement menu to daily routine in a book and reread it every time I miss my new mom moment.

5. Toothpaste, lotion, face mask - just some basic necessity to keep her fresh and well taken care of.

Some other things you can consider:

1. Headband or scrunchies -  to keep mom neat and tidy all day and night.

2. Nipple cream / balm / butter - crack nipples is no fun and can interfere in breastfeeding process.
3. Breast pads - you can find many brands of disposable pads in different size of packaging, from 12 pcs to 80 pcs per pack / box. You can also find washable one like this:
4. Breast pump / milk collection cup - most of the time when the milk supply is high, breast pads are not a good option. Mom will need to keep the milk stored for later. Get her a breast pump (manual will be good) or a pair of collection cup like this:

5. Essential Oil - Get mom some Lavender to keep her calm and relax after all the hard work!

6. Milk storage / cooler bag - working mom needs this when she gets back to work. There are so many options out there from back pack to sling bags, plain and colorful.
7. Socks / cardigan / blanket - something to keep mom warm and comfort at night.

8. Body care - body scrub, lotion, body mist, and some say bath salt helps mom to rejuvenate herself.
