Recipe: Fluffy Donut

by - November 06, 2020

It's my first time making donuts and it turned out soooo good, so I MUST share the recipe here!

It's a traditional donut recipe with a twist, I added potatoes in it!

Ingredients:

500 grams of flour
200 grams of boiled, mashed potato
4 tablespoon of milk powder
1 egg
200 ml lukewarm water
3 tablespoon of butter
3 tablespoon of sugar
1 packet of instant yeast (11 grams)

To make:

1. For the start, I put the instant yeast into a quarter cup of lukewarm water. Leave it aside.

2. In a bowl, mix the flour, mashed potato, milk powder, egg, butter, sugar and finally the yeast. Add water gradually and knead everything till they form a lovely dough. You'll know the dough is ready when it's soft and doesn't stick on your fingers.

Note: If you use bread maker, just put all ingredients in, press 'on' button and wait.

3. Keep the dough in the bowl, cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and wait till it rise double the size. It'll take approximately 40 minutes or so.

4. For the next step, punch the dough to release the air or whatever that's what's written in the recipe so.just.do.it.

5. Shape your donut as you desire, and once again, let it rise double in size before you put them in the fryer. Medium heat, deep fry till golden brown.

6. Coat 'em with castor sugar. (I'd love adding a pinch of cinnamon powder into the sugar.)

I make small size donuts so I can freeze some for later.
