Super Simple Scone Recipe

by - November 22, 2020

I craved for warm scones, but could not go out due to CMCO. So I googled up some scone recipes and found the easiest one, so I gave it a try.

If it is not simple, I would not border to try. As simple as that :)

This recipe uses only 3 ingredients, and it turned out really really really good!

To make 6 to 8 scones, you will need:

2 1/2 cup of self raising flour (if you don't have it, use plain flour with 2 tsp of baking powder)
60 gm of cold salted butter - cubed
1 cup of milk

First of all, add butter into the flour.
Mix the butter with the flour using your fingers till it looks like breadcrumbs.
Then, add milk and knead briefly.

This is how it is supposed to look like:
Cut the dough using cookie cutter or cup at about 2 cm thickness. Pre heat the oven at 200 C for 5 minutes and pop them into the oven.

Fun fact: I used air fryer for this recipe, and it worked as good as the oven :)

Bake for 10 minutes. While they are baking, your kitchen smells like butter and a bakery. After 10 minutes:
Enjoy it the traditional way with some clotted cream and fruit jam. In my case, I don't have clotted cream so I just spread some butter and strawberry jam.
Smooth and buttery, budget friendly in just 20 minutes :)
